This is a slower paced, relaxed style of yoga appropriate for everyone regardless of age or physical issues. You'll be encouraged to work at your own pace. A folding or other low back chair is best, but any chair will work. A mat can be helpful but is not required. There are two options for participation: 1. Yoga for Strong BonesFitnessThis class will focus on the postures in Dr. Fishman's program, Yoga for Osteoporosis, that have been proven to strengthen the bones. There will be modifications for those with Osteopenia, Osteoporosis and those who wish to prevent those conditions. Students will need a chair and a yoga mat. Blocks and straps would be helpful but are not necessary. Each class will include postures, breathing techniques to calm the body/mind and a deep relaxation at the end of class.
