    Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a program based on the practice of mindfulness. Mindfulness involves moment-to-moment, nonjudgmental awareness that allows you to respond with greater calmness and clarity to life’s challenges. This well-respected program was developed in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. MBSR provides tools to help you take better care of your health and discover a greater sense of peace and wellbeing. It can help your ability to: Relax focus find balance and stability  access inner strength and wisdom And handle more skillfully: Stress  chronic pain fear anxiety high blood pressure insomnia and many other medical conditions Class will run 6-9pm on the first and last days. The program includes: Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation, gentle stretching and yoga, Qi Gong, and large and small group discussions. You will be asked to attend all classes and to practice daily for ~30 minutes.
