Preschool Tuition Assistance

Families living in St. Louis Park may qualify for preschool tuition assistance based on household income or participation in government programs.

Eligibility is determined using Federal Poverty Level guidelines, which align with the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Program (FRPM). Families may also qualify by providing dated documentation of participation in programs such as:

  • SNAP, WIC, TANF
  • MFIP, CCAP, CACFP
  • Head Start
  • Foster care placement (section 260C.212)

Pathways II and Voluntary Pre-K (VPK) scholarships are also available.

Apply for Tuition Assistance

To apply for tuition assistance, families must check “YES” on the questionnaire indicating interest in exploring tuition support. Our Lead Administrative Assistant, Sarah Reuben, will follow up to discuss options, provide a Tuition Assistance Form, and guide you through the next steps.

Proof of income is required. Acceptable documentation includes:

  • Two recent pay stubs
  • A W-2 form
  • Most recent tax return
  • A dated income verification letter

Tuition Assistance Estimate

To estimate your tuition assistance, first check if your household income qualifies under the USDA Free and Reduced-Price Meal eligibility guidelines. Use the table below to see if you meet the criteria. If you qualify, you may be eligible for a discount on preschool tuition. The amount of assistance depends on:

  • Your verified household income
  • The number of days per week your child attends preschool

Students who qualify for tuition assistance or scholarships must complete an Early Childhood Screening within 90 days of starting school. Early Childhood Screening is a state requirement for Kindergarten entrance. For more information, contact Sarah Reuben at young.sarah@slpschools.org or 952-928-6785.
