  • August 2025 Early Childhood Screening

    Screening is a free service required by the State of Minnesota for entrance into Kindergarten. The screening is most valuable soon after your child turns 3 years old. (3 1/2 to 4 years old is the ideal age) Screening includes a vision, hearing, and developmental assessment, as well as an opportunity to discuss any family circumstance that you feel may affect your child’s learning readiness. The screening will help identify any area your child may benefit from early childhood services before they enter school, and connect families with appropriate resources and programs. Screening takes approximately one hour to complete. * Appointments are required. Please Note: Screenings are now being conducted inside Central Early Learning Center – 6300 Walker Street, St. Louis Park, MN. 55416. Please enter door # 3 on the west side of the building. Please check-in at the office. Our August appointments are available for children entering Kindergarten in Fall 2025. Appointments for children not entering Kindergarten will be starting in September. Please complete the required forms and bring them to your screening appointment. CLICK HERE to access forms. Note: If your child has already had a screening in a different school district, please call 952-928-6774. Please do not set-up an online appointment. There is no charge for this screening but please complete the course checkout and receive a confirmation email to be enrolled in your Early Childhood Screening Appointment. Thank you!

    Beginner (No Instruction) Mah-jongg

    Come play BEGINNER MAH-JONGG at Lenox every Monday from 10am-12pm! While this is a beginner class, the expectation is that participants are familiar with the game.

    Learn to play the Ukulele with your family in this one-time class! You will learn about tuning, strumming, common chords, 10 songs with 2 chords plus more. Each student must bring a soprano or concert ukulele. You will receive some resources to find songs online. You will leave knowing how much fun playing the Ukulele is! Please note the minimum age requirement is 9 years old.

    This supportive and fun mental health group for middle school students has a goal to empower each student to feel more confident in their ability to navigate life's challenges by receiving emotional support, growing confidence, and building coping strategies in an encouraging, small group setting. Through a combination of group activities, educational resources, and discussions, students will focus on building their sense of self, learning communication skills, improving emotion regulation, and setting goals for their future. A parent or guardian must provide consent for participation on the attached form.     Cell Phones & Parenting: Balancing Connectivity and Safety

    This engaging session will help you navigate the challenges of your child's digital world and provide helpful tools for your parenting toolbox. Learn practical strategies for social media/friendships, setting boundaries, ensuring online safety, and fostering healthy screen habits. Empower yourself with the tools to help raise a teen with a smart technology foundation they will use into Adulthood. Please note that each class is taught live online. If a student is unable to attend the live online training, they can still register and watch the recorded class at their convenience. Follow-up support is also included from the instructor and students are encouraged to reach out with questions at any time before or after the class has concluded.

    Show your commitment and passion for your community by taking part in these monthly meetups. Each month we will be focusing on a different project and organization to assist. The Community Service Club is a joint program with St. Louis Park Community Ed with Project SOAR, our Adults with Disabilities program. This course does not have a required registration fee, but we have a suggested donation amount and other options to donate what you can to help us purchase materials for the projects. In what could be the most enlightening webinar you’ve ever taken, our instructor and professional voice coach will show you how you can actually begin using your speaking voice for commercials, films, videos, and more. Most people go about it the wrong way. In this introductory class, you will learn about a unique, outside the box way to break into this creative, fulfilling, and potentially lucrative industry. Voice-overs can be managed on your own terms, on your own turf, in your own time, and with minimal overhead! Whether you choose to pursue voice-overs part-time or full-time, this could be the game changer you’ve been looking for. In addition to online instruction, you will be given the opportunity to book a 1-on-1 script read and voice evaluation via telephone with your instructor for the following day. This class will be presented via Zoom, you will receive a link the 24 hours prior to the class. Join this group of beginning and skilled painters to discover or enhance your style. Work in whatever medium you choose—acrylic, oil, watercolor or pastels—and learn the skills you need to enhance your art. Gain confidence in your ability to translate your subject to canvas as you strengthen your observational skills, and build a reliable process for planning and developing your voice. In this class, Instructor Suzi McCardle is available to demonstrate a variety of techniques using different mediums and offer one-on-one feedback of your work upon request. Time for you to focus on your creative process will be emphasized in this workshop. Basic art supplies are all you need.
