Have you always wanted to learn to play chess or just improve your chess playing ability? Professor Berger (a.k.a. Coach Dave) has experience teaching players of all skill levels and ages. He uses a practical approach so everyone learns as they play. As you learn the game, Coach Dave will add in a variety of exercises, techniques, and strategies so that you can advance your playing ability to the level you wish to achieve. Coach Dave is a competitive chess player who has played in many tournaments.
Open to ages 16+
Professor Dave Berger, also known as Coach Dave, has taught chess at nearly every level-from elementary and middle school to high school, college, community education, and 55+. A retired sociology professor who spent most of his 35-year career at Inver Hills Community College, Dave is also an experienced competitive player and coach with a long history in chess tournaments.
