Join our hands-on coding club where middle school students use microcontrollers to design and build their own digital games, interactive toys, and creative tech projects! Learn the basics of coding, problem-solving, and electronics while collaborating with friends to turn ideas into playable creations—no experience needed, just curiosity and creativity!

Micro C Toys 

• Session 1: Nightlight
  • While learning about the internal workings of a microprocessor, students will: assemble, program, and keep their own automatic nightlights. These lights automatically provide a little safety and comfort when darkness falls.

• Session 2: NeoPixel Candle
  • Students will first wire up then, using a software library, program electric candles. Students will take home their candles. Compared to their burning counterparts, these flameless candles are safer and are user adjustable.

• Session 3: Countdown Timer
  • Students will learn about seven segment LED displays. Then use them, in conjunction with a software library, to create and keep their own set-able countdown timers. These timers make great Pomodoro study periods or family game night timers.

• Session 4: Friendly Robot
  • Students will learn how to connect an OLED display and create friendly ever searching eyes to show on the display. Students will take home their ever watchful robots to guard their belongings or welcome them home.
