Starting SoonPark TV15: St. Louis Park Community Ed Classes on TV!Community TV & VideoThe St. Louis Park Senior Program takes to the airwaves! In partnership with the City of St. Louis Park we are offering these classes for FREE and on TV! Classes will be aired on Park TV15 Comcast Cable Access every eight hours (7pm, 3am & 11am) during their premier (dates listed below). Yoga for LifeFitnessFrom the comfort of your own home, enjoy in-depth instruction as you practice a wide variety of warm-up exercises and yoga poses, along with easy meditation and relaxation practices. We'll work on the whole body, improving flexibility, strength, balance, and range of motion. No special props or equipment needed, although a mat and blocks can be helpful. Beginners welcome! Reduce tension and stress, get rid of aches and pains, sleep better and feel better overall. You'll be encouraged to work at your own level and pace in this supportive class. Enjoy Wendy's relaxing voice and easy to follow directions. There are two options for participation: 1. Online Class & Video: This class includes one online zoom class each week, and 7 online class videos that you can use on demand if you miss a class or for additional practice. Upon registering, you will receive the links to participate in the Zoom class and to access the recorded videos. Videos for Fall will be active from November 30 - January 24, 2021. Videos for Winter will be active from January 5 - April 3. Videos for Spring will be active from April 5 - June 5. 2. Video Only: You can choose to simply receive the recorded videos for this class. Gentle Standing and Chair YogaFitnessA gentle series of standing and chair warm up exercises and beginning yoga poses - no floor exercises. Improve flexibility, range of motion, strength, and balance, while reducing stress and tension. You'll get rid of aches and pains, sleep better, and feel better overall. This is a slower paced, relaxed style of yoga appropriate for everyone regardless of age or physical issues. You'll be encouraged to work at your own pace. Enjoy Wendy's relaxing voice and easy to follow instruction all from the comfort of your own home. A chair is needed for this class. A folding or other low back chair is best, but any chair will work. A mat can be helpful but is not required. There are two options for participation: 1. Yoga for Strong BonesFitnessThis class will focus on the postures in Dr. Fishman's program, Yoga for Osteoporosis, that have been proven to strengthen the bones. There will be modifications for those with Osteopenia, Osteoporosis and those who wish to prevent those conditions. Students will need a chair and a yoga mat. Blocks and straps would be helpful but are not necessary. Each class will include postures, breathing techniques to calm the body/mind and a deep relaxation at the end of class. Postures can be done either on the chair or on the mat depending on your condition. All levels welcome! Join us online! This class will be held online using Zoom.
