Gain confidence in your ability to translate your subject to canvas as you strengthen your observational skills, build a reliable process for planning and developing your unique voice. Whether a beginner or more experienced painter, this workshop will help to identify a focus in your painting practice. Suzi will demonstrate a variety of topics including setting up a composition using design protocols, then leaving the rest of the class for your own work.     Fading Ads of the Twin Cities

    Do you remember seeing those old painted ads on the sides of buildings for Coca-Cola, Grain Belt Beer, grocery stores, warehouses, etc. Our instructor, Jay Grammond has been drawn to Fading Ads, or “Ghost Signs” for quite some time. In the Summer of 2020, that interest became so much more when he signed a book deal to publish a book about the topic. Join Jay as he takes you on a virtual walk around the Twin Cities to view this sort of “Art Gallery” that surrounds us. You will also learn a bit about the history of some of these companies that date back into the 1800’s.

    Fantasy Football Class for Beginners

    What participants will learn: by the end of the class, participants would have a fundamental understanding of all offensive positions groups that make up the scoring in fantasy football. Participants will also participate in a fantasy football draft. Topics covered include: scoring in fantasy football, the waiver wire, the importance of bye weeks, trades, different kinds of fantasy football leagues, different drafting options (online vs in-person, how to access weekly lineup advice) and having fun!!! All participants will walk away from the class with a packet of everything that was discussed, online tools to be successful with fantasy football, as well as my email so that they can ask me questions anytime. Participants will realize and understand how simple and fun fantasy football can be.

    Friends in the Kitchen

    Get ideas for new recipes, new cooking techniques and tips for cooking for 1 and healthy eating on a budget! Learn how to make flavorful, healthy meal choices you can cook at home - taste them in class - and go home with the recipes. The meals are designed to be freezer-ready, shareable, and they avoid using processed ingredients. The class is geared toward those who have mobility limitations, special dietary needs, or want to learn how to eat healthy without spending a lot of money. There is no cost to attend the class, but please register in advance! This class is offered in partnership with LSS of Minnesota and FREE thanks to a Healthy Living grant from the City of St. Louis Park!
