Adult Enrichment 2023-2024

Mental Health First Aid is an 8 hour national certification course that is designed to teach the skills to recognize the signs of a mental health or substance use disorder crisis, identify community resources, and link individuals in need of treatment and support to the proper resources. Students will learn a 5 step action plan that can be used to help those in need. Students complete 2-hours of pre-work prior to attending 6-hours of classroom instruction. Students must complete all pre-work in order to gain entry to class. Those that are unable to complete the pre-work as required will be invited to attend a future class. Upon completion of the course, each participant is eligible to receive a mental health first aid ‘e-card’ and the mental health first aid participant manual.
