The resistance of the water provides great opportunities for improving health of your heart, muscles and mind. No swimming ability is necessary to participate but participants should feel comfortable moving in the water. Please come in swim suits under clothing. Starting SoonInfant/Preschool Instruction at Central Community CenterAquaticsClass is designed to help the younger child become comfortable in the around water. Adults will learn how to help the child in the water and learn water safety tips. Beginning swimming skills are taught through practice and song and games. One parent or adult must accompany each child in the water. Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper. Parents please come in swim suits under clothing. Children may change in the locker rooms. Locker rooms will be available to change after class or bathroom use. PopularShorty Beginner Swim Lessons at Central Community CenterAquaticsThis class is designed for the 3 - 6 year old who is comfortable being in the water with a teacher and hanging on the side for short periods of time. Skills include blowing bubbles, floats on front & back, submerging, and arms and legs while swimming on front and back. Small class ratio. Children will repeat this class until they can touch the bottom of our pool comfortably (42"at chin). Class may be repeated many times. In following with Covid-19 guidelines a parent or guardian must accompany swimmer in the water. Please come in swim suits under clothing. Skills taught are submerging, floating, front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, diving and treading water. Testing will be done on first day if you are not sure what level.
