Ready to get your hands in clay? Whether you’re brand new to pottery or looking for a refresher, this class covers the fundamentals while giving you time to create. You’ll have access to studio tools, a bag of reclaimed clay to get started, and a variety of glazes, and your finished pieces will be fired on site for you to pick up at a later date.
The class takes place at St. Louis Park High School, where a pottery instructor and studio manager will be available to provide supplies, answer questions, and support your creative process. The $40 supply fee is included in tuition.
Experienced potters and returning students, we encourage you to please register for the Open Pottery Studio session to give other students an opportunity to take Intro to Pottery.
Hi, I'm Kathe, and started my pottery journey about four years ago with classes at the University of Minnesota. I find immense joy in shaping clay into something unique and beautiful on the wheel, and I love sharing this experience with others. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching an abbreviated intro class for community education at Richfield High School, and I’m excited to help you explore the art of pottery in our class and see your wonderful work. Whether you're new to functional pottery or looking to refine your skills, I’m here to support you on your creative journey.
