The Amazing Neutrino

Adult and Senior / Lifelong Learning -
Senior Program 2024-2025

Whoever heard of a "neutrino?" This "little neutral one" is a subatomic particle, created in such quantities in the sun that more than one hundred trillion of them pass through your body every second. After they pass through your body, they go clean through the Earth too. They also help cause SuperNova star explosions and create your blood. Who says astrophysics can't be fun?! Join instructor Louis Lavoie as he proves it can be fun and teaches you about neutrinos.

Louis P. Lavoie

Louis Lavoie is a retired physicist who has been on the staff of the University of Chicago's Enrico Fermi Institute for Nuclear Studies as well as visiting physicist at Fermilab and Argonne National Laboratory. His specialty was particle physics, particularly the study of the mu meson.
