Brazil, like Africa, has Savannah grasslands— but they're seasonally-flooded ranches! The ”Big Five” animals can be seen: jaguars, giant river otters, maned wolves, tapirs, and giant anteater. Discover the unique landscapes, birds, and mammals of this lesser-known wildlife haven.

Lee Ann Landstrom

Lee Ann has been leading trips to Costa Rica annual since 1991. She is fascinated by the biodiversity in the tropics. Lee Ann is the retired director and naturalist of Eastman Nature Center, Three Rivers Park District. She has BA and MS degrees in biology and ecology. She has traveled to numerous countries to look for birds, wildlife, and plants and has given many well-received travelogues on these trips. Lee Ann is also the co-author of the Nature’s Yucky! childrens’ book series, which feature 16 animals and how their yucky behaviors help them survive.
